	Story Behind the Song I often drive around when I'm having trouble finding a topic to write about. In fact, I like to go for a drive to just think through things. So while on a drive one day, I decided to write about it. I just incorporated the "ending relationship" part just to add a twist. Lyrics I don't have a cottage in the mountains I don't have to fly a thousand miles I don’t have to sit beside the ocean I've got my "get away" parked right outside I've got wheels they give me wings To fly around the edge of town and take a break from things There I’ll waste time for a while Till I don’t have to fake a laugh or force a smile I've got wheels I’ve never had much in the way of patience But I’ve never had a need for therapy Cause I’ve always had a way to work through issues All I’ve got to do is turn a key I've got wheels they give me wings To fly around the edge of town and think through things There I’ll waste time for a while Till I can find the peace of mind to keep my smile I've got wheels I don't have the strength to keep on trying And we don't have a prayer to make things right Though I may have some tearful reservations I don’t have the heart to stay this time But I've got wheels they give me wings To fly on out of this old town and search for better things And I won't waste time anymore And I won’t stop until I can be sure That I have earned that smile I’m searching for I've got wheels
