Rev 19:6-9 Then I heard something like the voice of a great multitude and like the sound of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, saying,
"Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns.
"Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready." It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. Then he said to me, "Write, "Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.'" And he said to me, "These are true words of God."

Story Behind the Song
Many of the songs we sing in church have the word hallelujah in the title. When my good friend Lance asked to sing one of these,
“Sing Hallelujah” by Linda Stassen-Benjamin, I was moved to do a word study on this word which is so prevalent in Christian music. I was surprised to find that the word only appears 4 times in the New Testament and all 4 times it is found in the 19th chapter of of the book of Revelation. I found it ironic that this word, which appears so infrequently in scripture, is used so often in Christian music. Somehow this experience motivated me to add 2 verses to this well known chorus. These verses are an attempt to surround her chorus with the events described in Rev 19. I hope my addition does the original song justice.
Lyrics
Sing Hallelujah
The doors of heaven open wide
the Lord sits on the throne.
The elders and the living ones
worship Him alone.
They bow in homage to their King,
lift their voices and the sing
"Hallelujah to the Lord".
They sing hallelujah to the Lord.
Sing hallelujah to the Lord.
Sing hallelujah
Sing hallelujah.
Sing hallelujah to the Lord.
For our Lord God almighty reigns,
rejoice oh saints be glad.
And give Him all the glory for the
things He's brought to pass.
The wedding of the Lamb is here
His bride is ready, she stands near
Sing hallelujah to the Lord.
They sing hallelujah to the Lord.
Sing hallelujah to the Lord.
Sing hallelujah
Sing hallelujah.
Sing hallelujah to the Lord.
(Instrumental interlude)
They sing hallelujah to the Lord.
Sing hallelujah to the Lord.
Sing hallelujah
Sing hallelujah.
Sing hallelujah to the Lord.
