	Story Behind the Song This work was commissioned by the period-instrument ensemble "La Follia Austin Baroque" in 1999 and premiered in the spring of 2000. As a tribute to the group, I constructed the piece as a set of variations on "Folias de Espaņa," a tune (or chord progression) that many composers before me have used for variations.
