When cries of "wah, wah" turn to baby talk, something gets lost in the translation .. at least if you are the baby. |

Story Behind the Song
When my twin stepsons were very young, they suddenly went from crying for attention to saying the words "Wah, wah" when they didn't get their way. I wrote this song shortly after while driving to Winston-Salem (kids, don't try this at home).
Lyrics
When we want to stay up, but momma says NAH
Only thing to say is WAH WAH WAH
When we say NO NO, but momma says YEAH
Put on a sad face, say WAH WAH WAH
When we were little babies, WAH was all we said
A WAH would get us dry and a WAH would get us fed
But now that we can talk, we never seem to win
So we might as well go back to saying WAH again
I guess I gotta go now, it's time for my nap
Only thing to say is WAH WAH WAH
And even when I'm grown up, and people might laugh
Sometimes I'll still say WAH WAH WAH
