Story Behind the Song
This piece is about the age old battle between science and religion. Some blindly cling to either, while others realize that both in conjunction are the most benefitial to our society.
Lyrics
I've been intrigued by the discoveries of the new world
Masters of destroying faith, by deciphering the old
And not too long ago we all shared a common path
But I believe in the end, we'll reach it all intact
As time progresses we'll be able to determine our fate
In time we should all be able to cooperate
But by lying through your teeth, you fill the world with hate
Lying through your teeth fills the world...
Peasant folk, planning the first crusade
Their god has told them, to go out and invade
Lost in battle, spared by none
Attempt revamped, the infidels still won
And don't tell me that they've given up all hope
You now realize the Catholic Church is a big hoax
Paying to go to paradise, emptying your bank
Expecting to reap the profits, now you've failed
If you're the chosen people, why does your god let you suffer?
Blind devotion and closed minds, will only make it tougher
Asking now for what? Reimbursement of your pain
But wouldn't your god know not to let you die in vain
