Almost every instrument in Hadrian's Wall is actually a bass guitar, including lead and rhythm. This is the case with all my songs. I'm basically a one man band (D'Absinth)Tim Black, bassist, vocalist and songwriter. There really isn't an exact genre for this song..I chose progressive here but I self dubbed my genre as "Hybrid Metal". Metal, Goth and Funk are woven together. My main influences right now are; Rush, Rammstein, The Beatles, Metallica, Megadeth and Meshuggah. |

Story Behind the Song
When I decided to go in the studio and record metal using mainly a bass guitar for everything some people said it would never work..so this song is about overcoming challenges (and maybe enemies too). Hadrian's Wall is an ancient wall built across England by the Roman emperor Hadrian...so there is a symbolic thing going on. The riff for this song evolved for over a year.
Lyrics
I'm destined to feel like hell
Was insane, you couldn't tell
Yet I'm determined to break this wall
Deadly is the game, rise or fall
Can't knock down
No, you can't knock down
Hadrian's Wall
This time I will
It hasn't been done before
Hadrian's Wall
This time I will
It hasn't been done before
Hadrian's Wall
Undying enemy, you'll see
I will destroy
Hadrian's Wall
You may feel same as me, tomorrow
Might've lost my dignity
Still to find my destiny
But I'm determined to break this wall
History tells the same, rise or fall
Hadrian's Wall
