Story Behind the Song
This song was written about a true story when JP and Jared were sitting on the street corner in State College, playing their guitars and singing for the people. One woman, beautiful and well-dressed, walked by and said to the crowd "They're just two losers with guitars, playing on the street for money." I hope she hears this song some day. Bitch.
The tribal grunting ("hoo-haa") was provided by our friends in the band Electric Blue (also available on mp3.com, I believe). Thanks, guys.
Lyrics
It's cold out.
I've been sitting here a long time.
It's wet out.
I'll play a song, you toss a dime.
And then this bitch she comes walking,
Knockin' her dirt on me.
"They're just two losers with guitars
Playing on the street for money."
Her fleece and gabardine warm her on the outside.
She's colder than she seems. Calder in the morning night.
There's such a beauty about her way.
As long as she can hide here acid tongue away.
I'm hungry.
I haven't eaten full for five years.
Man, it frustrates.
I'm sick of singing for your chump change.
A million people come to listen,
She knocks all her dirt on me.
"They're just two losers with guitars,
Playing on the street for money."
