Story Behind the Song
The music was originally written for a girlfriend at the time. Since she had been the most beautiful girl in my life, I wanted to write the most beautiful song about her...a song that would be my masterpiece. I never did complete a whole set of lyrics. We broke up, but the song was never completed before the break up. However, John wrote the lyrics to this song partly as a reflection of his own experiences. Instead of a love song, which were my original intentions, he wrote the lyrics about how even though we may not like to do it, breaking up is sometimes the best option. As this was also the case with the said relationship, the lyrics worked perfectly, and the song still remains true to this girl.

Lyrics
It's all in my hands
I can't expect you to understand that
Our time in this is over
We've taken it too far
But time will make you see
All that you have given me
But for now, we...
Can't be
Anymore
What am I looking for?

Every moment I spend with you
And everything that we went through
Every single hour

But we've grown in different ways
And we've witnessed better days
So right now we...

Too much
Thought of pain in every touch
And now time has brought an end to all we thought we were
A poem
A song
A time to know that it's all wrong
And that time has brought an end to all that we thought we were
If only I had been
Better for you in the end
I could see forever
But now forever's gone
And we're left to hope and wait
Both left feeling it's too late
And it seems that we...
