	Story Behind the Song The music was originally written for a girlfriend at the time. Since she had been the most beautiful girl in my life, I wanted to write the most beautiful song about her...a song that would be my masterpiece. I never did complete a whole set of lyrics. We broke up, but the song was never completed before the break up. However, John wrote the lyrics to this song partly as a reflection of his own experiences. Instead of a love song, which were my original intentions, he wrote the lyrics about how even though we may not like to do it, breaking up is sometimes the best option.
