	Story Behind the Song The abuse of the prescription pain killer OxyContin (OC) has become a modern day epidemic in young adults 18-35. An over-the -counter narcotic, OC is an extremely efficient pain killer used in the treatment of cancer. When abused, it is highly addictive. The DEA has said that the abuse of OC has grown faster than any other prescription medicine in 20 years. Its use has been a factor in over 400 deaths in youths since January 2000. In recent news, abuse of OC has gained national attention with features on MTV's "True Life: I'm Hooked on OxyContin" and NBC News' magazine -Dateline.
