    WHERE THE SONG WAS WRITTEN
I wrote the lyrics on while sitting on
    my back porch swing
HOW LONG IT TOOK TO WRITE
It took me about an hour to write the
    lyrics---
then i approached Rick Johnson and
Wayne C. Moore about a tune for the
song, it just so happened that they
had a tune they had no lyrics for
and I had lyrics I had not tune for
when they began to play thier tune-
my lyrics fit syllable for syllable-
    it was MAGIC !!!

    Lyrics
    THE MOORS

    VERSE 1

SAW A BOOK ON THE SHELF ONE DAY
AND IT JUST SEEMED TO CALL MY NAME
TOLD OF A GYPSY AND A GIRL
    TOOK ME TO ANOTHER WORLD

    VERSE 2

HEATHCLIFF WAS SILENT -HE WAS DARK
AND ONLY ONE COULD HOLD HIS HEART
AND HOW CATHY LOVED HIM TOO
HE WAS ALL SHE EVER KNEW

    CHORUS

AND TO THE MOORS THEY'D RUN AWAY
HE'D WATCH THE WIND CARESS HER FACE
AND WHEN THEY'D FIND A PLACE TO REST
SHE'D LAY HER HEAD UPON HIS CHEST

    VERSE 3

    HE OVERHEARD MISS CATHY SAY
THAT SHE COULD NEVER TAKE HIS NAME
TOOK WHAT HE HAD AND WENT AWAY
LEFT HER STANDIN' IN THE RAIN

    VERSE 4

HER SPIRIT NEVER LEFT THE HEIGHTS
    LOOKIN' FOR THE CANDLE LIGHT
SHE ROAMED THE EARTH NEAR 20 YEARS
WAITIN' FOR HER LOVE SO DEAR

    REPEAT CHORUS

    MODIFIED CHORUS

AND TO THE MOORS THEY'LL RUN AWAY
HE'LL WATCH THE WIND CARESS HER FACE
AND WHEN THEY FIND A PLACE TO REST
SHE'LL LAY HER HEAD UPON HIS CHEST
