	Story Behind the Song I wrote this song during my 4 year tenure as Music Director at KAOS FM in Olympia, WA. Beck had released his song, "MTV makes me wanna smoke crack", and then within a year, was all over Alternative commercial radio with his hit "Loser". With "The Radio", I wanted to clown Beck a little, but more importantly, I wanted to comment on the homogenization of broadcast media, and the irony of mass marketing "Alternative" music. I also wanted to punk out the industry folks who would call me "on behalf of the artists" and suck all over my phone line, all day, every day...
