Story Behind the Song
The song is a satire of a boy (Nero) who believes he has everything he needs and is told through the eyes of his mentor. It turns out though, he is just a egotistical child who shows no gratitude to what others have done to raise him. His mother (Her Excellency) is naive of Nero's shortcomings and in the end, Nero goes to far and meets his doom. He died alone and stranded, with his head in his hands.
Lyrics
Young Nero's not satisfied with anything he sees
Nothing will fulfill him in his lonely community
'Your Excellency, it is his goal
But there's a long path on the way
His desire to rule an empire is
Strengthened everyday'
Blowing out the candle he says, 'Goodnight, mother, so dear'
'I've never seen the bright side of your future, Nero
Did you expect everyone to believe that you're some sort of
Super hero-ic character not confined to the limits
The bounds, nor the walls of conformity?'
Nero booked a ticket for the island of fame
He can't read and boarded
The fucking wrong plane
Alone and stranded, head in his hands
Even Satan couldn't meet Nero's demands
Oh, Nero why'd you have to leave?
I would beg to keep you, Nero, please
Don't abandon me; it's too late
Nero's gone
