Story Behind the Song
This song was written about a girl I met at a bar one evening, who swore up and down that she was a certain age. I later discovered she was not even legal to be in the bar where we met.....Basically, this song is about being fooled, and being angry about it.
Lyrics
Was there something you wanna say to me
I heard from a friend that you'd get back to me
It's not a matter of days or months or years
But a matter of trust, despite your lack of years
Was something wasted here?
Too long, too far away
Well I can see you're standing there
With your empty stare
Any other soul with empathy
Surely wouldn't have to play any games with me
It's not a matter of love or hate or you
All I ask is you tell me the truth
Was someone lying here?
Telling stories about their age
Well I can see you're standing there
You know I'm aware
Do you even care?
