Addressing our option to heal on a personal or global scale, this song is an invitation to grasp the moment, which is all we have... for yesterday is in the past, tomorrow is always a day away. Now is the time we can change our paths of pain, fear, or destruction to join in a celebration of life and love. |

Story Behind the Song
I was asked to write a song for a compilation cd that would be used to raise awareness of HIV and to raise money for the Gettin Busy campaign in Miami, Fl. They wanted a song that could be used more universally, not only applicable to the HIV issues. I told Steven I wanted to write a song called 'A Time to Heal', he brought me a rough draft, and we created the song in my home studio. I sang this song at a few National HIV conventions, once at an actual memorial service, and it has always been received beautifully. I hope you enjoy it.
Lyrics
Reach out and touch my hand
It’s difficult I understand
With me you don’t need to hide
I will stand by your side
Let’s join hands and embrace our fear
Love will make it disappear
Let’s not hide the hope we feel
Now is the time to heal
A time to heal the wounds we feel
And trust there’s so much more that’s real
A time to feel and finally heal
What spirit may reveal
When fear and pain no longer have power or appeal
The world will find this very moment
holds a time to heal
This divine invitation
Call us to life’s celebration
A journey to awaken the heart
From a world once torn apart
Trust will dissolve our fear
Acknowledging the love that’s here
No longer hiding the hope we feel
Now is the time to heal
