Story Behind the Song
This song was written when I was trying to get over someone, and I think the anger shows beneath the smooth beat. This is one of my personal favorites to play live, because it always gets people clapping.
Lyrics
Sayanora little baby now
I just can't understand how
you're climbing all these trees and
looking for that sacred cow
Me, I got my CDs stacked up
got diet coke and rum in my cup
and I'm watching cable TV, looking for the movie to come on, come on now
I'm sitting with my sneakers, sitting with my sneakers on (4x)
You like to walk for many a mile
wearing that St. John Bosco smile
and you're looking for a charity,
looking for a sacred child
Me, I go to Mass every week
and I try hard not to fall asleep
'cause I'm just another sinner, just another spotted sheep
You don't know the truth that I have got to tell to you
You suck at relationships and I'm forgetting you
All those times you beat me up and watched my bruises bleed
finally convinced me that you're not the one I need
I'm not a guy with a lot of style,
I wear sweat pants and my hair is wild
but I still can find a baby, still can find a baby tonight
And I wonder what I'm gonna do
if I keep on loving you
so I'm going to hit the whiskey, going to hit the coffee, going to hit the books
