Okay, this isn't even my song. Seriously. It's totally written by Phil Costanzo, my old bandmate. But hey, it's still a great song. This is the studio version, recorded in the summer of 2000 in Front Royal, Va. Me and Phil and doing guitar and vocals, I put the bass line down, and Mike Chamberland, as usual, is on drums |

Story Behind the Song
This is one of Phil's early songs, and one of the early songs of the Horse Shoe Pitts. I believe he wrote it for some girl...anyway, all I have to say about this recording is that I screwed up badly on the falsetto part on the bridge. But everything else sounds pretty good.
Lyrics
I look into your big blue eyes
I have a funny feeling inside of me
Red as the clouds and white as the sun could get, you leave this funny feeling
yet I must go away, must go away, yeah yeah.
Hey, yeah yeah yeah yeah
yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Yeah yeah, yeah yeah, uh-huh
Green is the color that resembles life
are you gonna get off here, or do you need a knife
to slice away and slice away at life
You'll grow as the sun shoots on your way
I must stay and pray for another day
to release my vines, no I can't fall away, yeah yeah
Here at heaven's doors we stand -- am I a coward or am I a man
Time to get it right, 'cause I can't wait to see you, can't wait to see you again
