Simple but true song about the frustrations we experience when others try to tell us how to live our lives. In the most simplest of ways, "Why Don't You Tell Me," turns the tables on the questioners so that they become the questionees. Comprised of only questions, the songs essentially asks them, "what's it like" to be them, and in the spirit of sarcasm, requests that they stop telling us how to live our lives.

    Lyrics
What's it like to finally find your focus
What's it like to square yourself off
What's it like to never have notions
What's it like to never question it at all

What's it like to have it all straight
What's it like to finally settle down
What's it like to shut yourself off
What's it like to never have yourself around

    Chorus
Why don't you tell me, you seem to know it all
Why don't you tell me just where I should fall
Why don't you tell me just how it's gonna be
Why don't you tell me just how to be free

Do you need me to make you feel important
Do you need me to validate your life
Do you need me to look down in torment
Do you need me to be your pretty little wife

Do you need me to not ask questions
Do you need me to conform to your rules
Do you need me hand on your shoulder
Do you need me to be your kind of fool

    Bridge
And why is it so important to you
For me to be just another part of you
Why do you say I will turn any day
And why do I have to accept all the things you say.

What's it like to think you have it all
What's it like to really have none
What's it like to covet your feelings
What's it like to never have them at all

What's it like to be the pretty little wife
What's it like to be your kind of fool
What's it like to never have a question
What's it like to never break a single rule.

    Repeat Chorus
