Story Behind the Song
it is basically amyh speaking to her grandmother about the events surrounding the passing of her grandfather. there are a few lyrics that only amyh and her grandmother understand, like "easy crosswords and nightly walks..."
Lyrics
soon this winter will be forgotten, then you can go and rest your head for a while. and i cant know just how it feels for you, it must be something like razors in your blood. but wait, there are more things to come. our mistakes wont seem so damning and we have to hold on to our good times. alive, alive that's all that we are.
and i'll stay with you for as long as i can, but you know that im not quite as strong as you.
just look right out that big picture window, the sun's still rising for you, he'll never really leave you.
and i, i dont understand this. my heart is so tired. but we have to hold on to our good times alive, alive is all that we are.
every night you spend in that place it breaks my heart into a million peices.
and it seems as though i was wrong; your easy crosswords and nightly walks wont ease your pain...so we'll wait. we'll wait this thing out together. it wont be long now, just believe, and hold my hand so tight...
i loved him so much i could die
i loved him so much i could cry
oh why did he have to die?
why?
