    Lyrics
    No More Scars
    Copyright 2002, Jason M. Turner

No More Scars, I gave my battle up to the Lord
Oh can you hear me now (repeat)

I've been fightin' a battle that ain't my own
but now I gotta, you know I gotta leave it alone
for it was written that this battle is the Lord's
and I gotta respect that, I gotta correct that
'cause I've been scarred, black and blue, broken and bruised
throwin' up my hands 'cause I've been confused
never could get ahead, an endless struggle leadin' me to nothin' but dead ends
I just kept wonderin' why it had to be that way
I hadda get on my knees one day I hadda begin to pray
Show me somehow Lord show me the way
I can't make it on my own and I need you today
I'm strugglin' and I don't know what to do
that's why I'm comin' to you Lord, I'm comin' to you
so I stepped back and I began to listen I mean I really had to listen
to the message he was givin' he told me son, you been wagin'
this war on your own, no wonder you're covered with scars
busted up broken and torn, leave the battle to me
and that's when I knew, he was a mighty God through and through...

No More Scars, I gave my battle up to the Lord
Oh can you hear me now (repeat)

    (Psalms 18:17-19)
He delivered me, from my strong enemy and from them
which hated me, for they were too strong for me
in the day of my calamity
but the Lord was my stay, he delivered me because he delighted in me...

All my blessings appeared in disguise, I just had to open my heart
to open my eyes, and now I surely have goodness and mercy behind me
as I travel on the journey that he set before me
seems the answer had been waitin' all along, I just had to be strong
and discern between the right and the wrong, and keep movin'
movin' along, just singin' my song, and hey if that's wrong
I could never be right, yo, I gave him control and let the spirit
flow in my life and it soothes my soul, "can you hear me now"
I got so tired of havin' the battle be all mine, just ignorin' the
signs that were tryin' to keep me in line
caught up in strife in this world, always fightin' and fightin' and
losin' and fightin' and losin' and bitin' my tongue when the light
tried to shine in, man I got so scarred up, I had to wake up, I had to get
up and look up 'cause I was shook up. thinkin' about the time it took up
I finally let go and let God, now he's runnin' my show and ya' know,
I got no more scars, no more scars y'all...

No More Scars, I gave my battle up to the Lord
Oh can you hear me now (repeat)

    (Psalms18:1-6)
    The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;
    my God, my strength, in whom I will trust;
my buckler and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised,
so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
The sorrows of death compassed me,
and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid.
The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me.
In my distress, I called upon the Lord and cried unto my God
he heard my voice out of his temple and my cry came before him, even into his ears...
