A fun, jazz-influenced song about wandering around Italy and getting hit on in a Milan Christian Dior. |

Lyrics
Sometime last week I got bored
Hopped a train en route to Florence
But Florence sucked, so I hopped a train for Rome
Rome was a bit too old for me
Crumbling building, dirty streets
So I gave up and I started to head home
And it’s March in Milan
I got 18 hours ‘til I leave this town
I’m humming “Vissi d’arte” as I walk along
Hoping some guy’ll say, “Hey, I love that play
Would you like some coffee? I insist, it’s on me”
Walk into Christian Dior
Feel up clothes I can’t afford
And ask the price of a bag I’d never buy
He says: “Actually it’s a woman’s purse
It costs a lot more than it’s worth, but what’s your name?
You know, I get off at five.”
And it’s March in Milan
And I’m quite confused and I’m quite turned on
And I know there’s absolutely nothing wrong
With a one night stand with some Italian man
But I’m not so sure and I need to think it over
Need to think it over
I know the Church is gonna hate me
Which just makes me wanna cry
If my music sold in Wal-Mart
They’d be picketing outside
Buying albums just to burn them
Later on on CNN
But I guess that would boost sales
So I’m not complaining
No I’m not complaining
And it’s March in Milan
And I know full well what I should do wrong
I don’t wanna spend my whole life writing songs
About almost flings, they are worthless things
But I chickened out and left for home at dawn
