A folk ballad with an Irish influence. The upbeat guitar rhythms contrast with the mournful backup fiddle to reflect conflicting emotions throughout the song. |

Story Behind the Song
What do you do when you've lost someone so dear to you that you simply can't let go? That's what Hold On is about. The lament was written with an Irish feel, portraying young man's feelings for his lost love. It was recorded several times over a six month period with various artists. As a matter of fact, the version now performed by the authoring band is different yet from the recorded version.
