Story Behind the Song
After traveling to West Virginia and working for a week on the home of a wonderful family, I felt called to write something for this year's return trip to Appalachia.
Lyrics
God, your love is in these mountains, your breath is in these trees
The glory of your sunrise, can bring us to our knees
Lord, help us spread your blessings, across these holy lands
May we gladly serve your kingdom, let us be your hands
Your laughter’s in these people, your song is in these streams
Your grace is all around us, and your spirit fuels our dreams
Lord, help us spread your blessings, across these holy lands
May we gladly serve your kingdom, let us be your hands
We’re armed with saw and hammer, with putty, grout and tile
But our most important tools are a loving word and smile.
Lord, help us spread your blessings, across these holy lands
May we gladly serve your kingdom, let us be your hands
