    Story Behind the Song
The motivation for the song was my wanting to write a song about illusions a person may find in a bottle of wine. I left the question open in the song ending. You might ask yourself: was she really there sharing the bottle of wine with him? It took several weeks to write and record the song.

    Memories In The Wine

    Spoken lead in:
Hi, I’m glad you could stop by. I’ve got a new bottle of wine. I think you will like it. Come on in.

    Verse I:
Where’s your heart and the key to unlock your mysteries that brings you back each time, sweet memories in the wine?

    Verse II:
When you’re here with me each night, who’s to say it’s wrong or right?
When love is good each time and sweet memories in the wine.

    Verse III:
Will you lay down by side? There’s no need to rush on by.
With love we need our time, precious moments and some wine.

    Verse IV:
When you’re here so soft and warm and then you’re gone, and I’m alone.
Searching deep within my mind. Were you here or in the wine?

    Spoken ending:
I know that it is time for you to go but I wish you could stay and spend the night with me. I’ve really missed you. But I know that I will have to wait until tomorrow night when I’ll have a new bottle of wine for us. Good night.
