Do you think Bob Ney went too far when he renamed fries and toast of the French variety? Effembee doesn't think he went far enough. Try Effembee's new side dish, World Domination Fries. |
Credits: Written, arranged and recorded by Frank M. Bland. Samples of Texas Gov. George W. Bush taken from Comedy Central's "The Daily Show" |
Story Behind the Song
This song started out as an opinion piece following Rep. Bob Ney's bold action in renaming some of our favorite foods, apparently intending to punish the French. NPR wasn't interested, and the idea languished for a while. Then at the beginning of May 2003, an episode of Comedy Central's "The Daily Show" brought the idea back to mind. And the following Sunday a Doonesbury comic started the wheels turning for real. The song was written that afternoon and recorded the following day. Please note: I checked the Parental Advisory box simply because some parents like to control how their children think. There is no "potty content" in this song, just political opinion with a side of fries.
Lyrics
Those Frogs are so annoying,
they're arrogant and rude.
The women sport armpit hair,
the men are crass and crude.
The whole damn country fills itself
on chocolate, bread and wine.
Well, we don't have to take it from these guys.
Eat World Domination Fries!
And speaking of annoying, what about those krauts?
They whine for diplomacy,
they never shut their mouths.
They goose-step with self-righteousness
till oil's on the line.
Well we must make these Germans embrace our vision,
with World Domination Precision!
We're fighting a righteous battle
against terror in this world.
We bring our message of peace and freedom
wherever our flag's unfurled.
Tony is in our pocket,
in Oz they play our tune.
But the French and Germans ask us, "Why, oh why?"
It's World Domination Fries!
