Story Behind the Song
Okay... so I was on the pier, in Clearwater, watching the sunset, watching the skim-boarders, watching the pretty girls and the old fishermen, and watching the waves extend out into oblivion. And a miniscule memory of life on the town back in crazy Cincinnati, with all of the people, all of the girls, the fast cars, the fun, the good lies, the lights, and the sirens. And I wrote it down in my yellow tattered notebook.
Lyrics
I'm workin' sixteen hours...
more than I should, more than I would...
more than I need to get by...
I want a hole in one...
said hey that's, much more fun,
takes much less time...
Oh, I'm goin' round and round with all my friends,
I've said it time and time and time again, So Fast...
It won't last...
So try to wheel and deal and have some fun,
I said it's rollin' over everyone...
Goin' so fast...
...no it won't last...
I wanna break the law,
wanna, watch it fall, it's always like glass...
I wanna hear it crash...
aww then I'm gonna,
call her up, said hey now,
I gave up, it's all in the past...
I'm goin' round and round with all my friends,
I've said it time and time and time again, So fast...
It won't last...
Just try to wheel and deal and have some fun,
I said it's runnin' over everyone...
Goin' so fast...
No it won't last....
