    Story Behind the Song
I wrote this right after I realized my boyfriend was a big jerk. I wrote it in about 15 minutes after he totally wrecked me! I think y'all will be able to relate.

    Lyrics
Tears weighed me down and I fell to the floor.
It’s not the first time, that my heart has been torn.
Aching the butterflies, they try to get free,
But somehow, they always fade into me.

I can’t believe, I was witness to your play.
After all that you did, and all that you would say.

Shame on me, for closing my eyes so tight each time we kissed
Shame on me, for thinking when we were apart that I was missed
Shame on me for letting it all go
Shame on me for letting you know.

Respect is not a word that you understand.
You tear me up inside, was that part of your plan?
I gave my soul to you, and you barely blinked an eye.
You have no idea how many times you made me cry.

I used to hide it all, I used to fight it all.
I used to smile and just look the other way

Shame on me, for closing my eyes so tight each time we kissed
Shame on me, for thinking when we were apart that I was missed
Shame on me for letting it all go
Shame on me for letting you know.

Well it’s so easy to say, that it’s your loss,
But when it comes down to it, I still feel so lost.
And I know deep inside, things between us just aren’t right.
But I keep on hoping that things just might….
    Work Out Between us!

Shame on me, for closing my eyes so tight each time we kissed
Shame on me, for thinking when we were apart that I was missed
Shame on me for letting it all go
Shame on me for letting you know.
