    Story Behind the Song
The "Dusty Road" concept was inspired by a friend traveling cross country. Although, the underlying truth of the song is that it is about "moving on" after a failed romance.

    Lyrics
    Dusty Road
    Written by Chris Casperson

I'm gonna ride the train today
Give me a ticket to anywhere
Maybe get a seat by the window
Then I can see whats around the bend
Trying to find a reason to stay
But the operator couldn't connnect my call
Sometimes, you get just what you're looking for
And other times, you get nothing at all

    Chorus:
Well I'd rather choose the things I am looking for
But fate seems to have..a mind all of its own
Think I'll take my time for awhile
See what I can find out on that dusty road
Out on that open road, Out on an open road...

Got my seat by the window
Wave goodbye to a familiar face
At one time I used love her
Now I don't remember her name
Don't want to seem to shallow
'Cause it ain't as plain as it seems
Somtimes love is easy to borrow and
Settling down just ain't my scene

    Chorus

It was only an hour or so later
    When I remembered her name
Kind of laugh as I thought about her
She had funny way, ya know of pleasin' me
Right now it doesn't really matter
As the white picket fence just past me by
I'm on a train bound for anywhere
I here that have colors other than white

    Chorus
