	Story Behind the Song When I got up this morning I was thinking about Nancy and a close friend of ours whose name is Laura Roberts. I was reflecting on the conversations Nancy had told me about them having recently. For some reason, they were in my thoughts today. Laura (like us) has had a lot of trials in her life, and was in the midst of heavy pressures at work due to some unethical and unfair treatment by those in authority. Because that kind of a thing tends to bother me, I guess I was just replaying some of what Nan had told me. I was thankful that Nan was able to be a good friend and lend a listening ear. Nan has told me on several occasions how she was thinking about Laura. Well, these words started to come, so I grabbed the guitar and wrote them down. This song is for Laura. It's my attempt to say what I remember about coming to many of the crossroads in my own life, and the friends who stepped in for me. They still step in. For her, it happened to be a job... but it could also be about lost love, or a lost friend, or anything that puts us in a place where we have to re-evaluate our lives and make new plans.
