	Story Behind the Song The Crusade is a song designed to lay everything Cognizance stands for on the table. I wrote it with the idea that I wanted people to be blown away when they heard it for the first time. It is full of references to hip-hop legends and those who choose to hate on what Cognizance is trying to do with rap music. The song is fairly eclectic in its sound and utilizes a number of editing effects to create the prototypical “epic track.” The Crusade is a call to all of those who are tired of mainstream songs about, girls, cars and money and asks those exhausted souls to follow Cognizance to a higher level of hip-hop music.
