    Story Behind the Song
We recorded this song early 2002. Steve wrote all of the guitar parts to begin with. He then brought the parts to Mark, who added his 2cents (along with a drum beat.) Next they brought the unfinished song to Eric who completed the music with his bass line. Steve and Cara co-wrote the lyrics and Cara performed them for this recording within her first week of joining. We recorded each instrument in seperate takes first laying drum and bass tracks. We then recorded the main guitar track along with the overdubs. Finally Cara was brought in a week later to finish the recording with her vocal track.

    Lyrics
    Take Something
    (written by Stephen and Cara)

Driving down the road one night, the wind dancing through my hair
The highway is an empty place when I look and you're not there
You left too soon, never made the time to say goodbye to me
I hope you went in peace my friend, and I hope you take something of me

    Chorus
    Take something to remember me
Take something so your spirit is free

I remember smiling in your eyes
Licked your lips and brushed my thighs
    Gave me your contented sigh
Sent me reeling to the sigh
I gave my heart for you to keep
You sold it for a way to cheat
I ran to you but you had the creep
Away from war, away from peace

    [Chorus]

I hope I was kind, I hope I had fun, I know you'll follow your dreams
And now you'll have lots of time to rip hearts apart at the seems
Is your destination far from home, does it take you far away
Doesn't matter, I know in time I'll meet you again someday

    [Chorus]

I'm sitting on the second hand
As your eagle soars across the sand
And no one seems to understand
Like a fire you consume the land
    I know you're leaving on a whim
    Showered down with sweetened gin
    Flying on the summer wind
Thrive upon your world of sin

    Take something to remember me
Take something cause now your spirit's free
