Story Behind the Song
I was writing an e-mail to a friend and said that alone was bad but lonely's where I live. Within minutes I had the song written and recorded it the next day.
Lyrics
There's a place on the other side of nowhere,
A place where only heartaches dare to roam,
You won't find it on any globe or road map,
But right now it's the place that I call home.
The darkness there will blind you like the sunlight,
And the howling wind will chill you to the bone,
With nothing there but emptiness around you,
And the sight of all your dreams that turned to stone.
CHORUS:
In a crowded place you can feel alone,
But in Lonely no one's there,
In Alone there are still signs of hope,
But in Lonely there's dispair,
Alone just may not seem to be the best alternative,
'Cause Alone is hard to handle,
But Lonely's where I live.
Repeat Chorus
'Cause Alone is hard to handle,
But Lonely's where I live.
