	Story Behind the Song music was written winter 2002 for a different set of lyrics by alexis jolly entitled 'death in venice', was to become a song in our short-lived band holden, but never came to fruition... i wrote these lyrics on the train home from a night out in tokyo... playing with the idea of haiku as a song, both in the short length and the strong contrasting imagery. and it's called 'the long goodbye'... but it's short... get it? recorded the demo in the torrid zone just after completion of the (muse) e.p., real quick-and-dirty just took a couple hours, though i did throw in a couple of recorder tracks to satisfy my general rule of having something besides guitar and vocals. so there Lyrics i climb the stares into her eyes and watch as something just born dies she turns to face the twilit sky never stops to question why ...goodbye
