Story Behind the Song
Written at the Rankenhof Hotel, on a lake about a hour's drive south of Berlin. The song just describes the laidback mood you can get into there (escape the madness of the rat race!).

"A piece of paradise"
1. Never had the time,
To really think things over,
Always seemed to rush,
To always be on time,
I didn't make the train,
For all the haste and worry,
But this time it's different,
This time it's gonna rhyme
2. Been to many places,
Travelled many countries,
Wandered through the questions,
Faltered on the whys,
Forgot them at the boathouse,
Somewhere close to heaven,
Your dreams they come a-stealin',
When you sit and close your eyes
Ref: Down beside the boathouse,
The lazy grass is waving,
The Sun is shining on me,
from an endless sapphire sky,
You might not understand,
What it is that makes me come here,
If you're looking for a reason,
To live then just call by
Solo
3. It seems that time stands still,
Down beside the boathouse,
Water all around you,
Time is on your side,
Lay back and let it roll,
Slow down and don't you worry,
If life's and endless struggle,
Then here's the place to hide
