A dub effected journey from darkness to light where time is doubled and cut in half and common ground is found between disparate sounds: Sand blown Moroccan beats match hits with Jamaican dancehall and jungle rhythms, Chinese dulcimer melodies float across throbbing reggae bass and voodoo guitar lines. |

Story Behind the Song
The photograph was taken at 6 a.m. after walking through the woods to some desolate ruins in northern Cambodia. I thought I was the only one there until I turned a corner and found this tiny bald woman, a Buddhist monk, holding vigil at this elaborate candle lit altar inside part of the ruins. The glowing candles and smoldering incense were a a surreal contrast to the fluorescent light bulb hanging naked above the golden Buddha and the bright morning light glaring through the back wall of the dark stone floored room in the ruins. I can't sum it up with words, but it was a profound spectacle that seemed to carry with it a deeper meaning about life as a whole.
