    Story Behind the Song
I was watching the Emmy's as awards were being bestowed on people for their great acting. I thought someone should honor single mothers like mine with an Emmy who act like mothers and fathers, and a Grammy for singing us to sleep at night and a Nobel Peace Prize for creating a peaceful home in a tumultuous world. So I wrote "Single Moms Anthem" as a tribute to my single mother and the other 10 million in America.

    Lyrics
    Single Mom’s Anthem

I have often taken for granted all the things that you have done.
How you tried to be a mom and dad
Though most moms need only be one,
The countless nights you just laid awake
Wondering how we would get along.
Even when you were feeling weak you helped us to be strong.

For the peace you brought into my life you deserve a Nobel Prize.
For singing me to sleep at night, a Grammy would suffice.
And for acting like a mom and dad I would give you an Emmy too.
And all these awards would be to say “Mom, I love you!!!”

Though no one else may see it, your sacrifices don’t go unknown.
    There’s an all-knowing God I know
Who’s looking down from his throne.
He sees how you laid down your life to provide for your child.
He has promised that your labor of love will be worth the while.

For the peace you brought into my life you deserve a Nobel prize.
For singing me to sleep at night, a Grammy would suffice.
And for acting like a mom and dad I would give you an Emmy too.
And all these awards would be to say “Mom, I love you!!!”

You stood out above the rest. You showed you were the best.
And I honor you. I honor you.

For the peace you brought into my life you deserve a Nobel prize.
For singing me to sleep at night, a Grammy would suffice.
And for acting like a mom and dad I would give you an Emmy too.
And all these awards would be to say “Mom, I love you!!!”
