If we choose, we can come full circle in every lifetime. A little dark -- a little gloomy -- kinda cheesy. |

Story Behind the Song
I saw the Francis Ford Coppolla-directed Dracula when it came out in 1992 -- when I first started playing guitar -- and I penned the song (my very first one, really) after Dracula (Gary Oldman) says to Mina (Winona Ryder) that he has "crossed oceans of time" to find her. I thought -- how poignant -- women seem to really respond to this song.
Lyrics
Threshold
I have lived a thousand years searching
For my soul to find
That I have cried a thousand tears
But can you read my mind, my mind
I have touched a thousand lives
Hoping to feel for you
And I’ve been cut to pieces with the knives
Of empty love inside, inside
For I have sailed an ocean of time
To find you again like
We’ve done so many times before
Remember that when we have to go
Our love will last forever
And we’ll find another door
I have heard a thousand cries of anger
And of pain and I have felt
The tongues of fire linger
Without the rain and I,
And I
I know you,
You know me --
Together,
We’re our destiny
I will kiss your lips a million times
Before I turn away
But I know that in another time
I’ll have the chance to say, to say
For I have sailed an ocean of time
To find you again like
We’ve done so many times before
Remember that when we have to go
Our love will last forever
And we’ll find another door
For I have sailed an ocean of time
To find you again like
We’ve done so many times before
Remember that when we have to go
Our love will last forever
And we’ll find another door
I know you,
You know me --
Together,
We’re our destiny
