    Story Behind the Song
It's the 1950s and a teenage loser Boy Scout finds himself in the middle of his own 3D movie. Live performance of this song includes "the most outrageous prop anyone in theatre has ever seen!" -- Orlando Sentinel.

    Lyrics
I was the teen least likely to
Attend the prom at my high school
    Glasses and braces
Were this Boy Scout's living hell

I never had that much to say to girls
And if I did I'd spit and spray it
    I spent every weekend night
Playing spin the bottle by myself

But then in June of '53
On the very night of my school's camping jamboree
While we were making graham cracker s'mores
We noticed mushroom clouds out by the reservoir
And from that night on things got really strange
'Cause little did we know we'd pitched our tents in an A-Bomb testing range

Within a week all hell broke loose
When little Johnny's face began to ooze
    The boy grew a nipple
Where his nose had always been

One by one the nuked out scouts
Had to quit their paper routes
    Except for Bobby
    Who grew an extra hand!

Terror struck each kind from Pack 123
    Everyone went creature-feature
    Including me!

    That's when I noticed I had grown
    A creature of my own
    That no one can ignore

Now I need garters and supports
'Cause of this monster in my shorts
And from now on I'll be known
As the teenage mutant Boy Scout
    From the nuclear fallout zone

I can barely walk through town
    Without my newfound friend
    Knocking someone down

And since word of this got around

Well, all the girls that didn't care before
Keep inviting me to parties by the score
    I am popular
    And feeling ten feet tall

Instead of roasting weenies by the fire
I can have whoever my burning heart desires
    I've got it all!

I'd spent all my life as just another schmo
But ever since that toxic campout
    I glow!

Now, girls are banging down my doors
'Cause I've got this creature in my drawers
    How my life has changed

Tonight, I'm prom king at the dance
Thanks to this monster in my pants

    And I'm glad I've grown
Out of the loser teenage Boy Scout
    Who used to be alone

Into the teenage mutant Boy Scout
    From the nuclear fallout
    Zone.
