Story Behind the Song
I wrote this song on my most recent birthday in January 2003. If there's one thing I will never understand, it's the measure of God's love that loves me beyond every fault, beyond my unfaith, beyond my thougtless disobedience; He loves me entirely and without condition. I know my downfalls too well, and if there's anything I struggle over understanding, it is this love. It is only when I see Him face to face, when I'm "embraced by eternity" that this issue of sinfulness will be gone forever. (Man, will that be cool...to love God freely without my human nature to inhibit my loving Him entirely).
Lyrics
One of these days, I'll come to find
Life passed like a dream
For a moment here and gone
I'll understand this all, one of these days.
But until then I will struggle
Over the measure of your love
And how on earth it could cover
Every single wrong I've done.
So I will live in wonder
At everything you are
And with each step more discover
What it means to be truly yours
One of these days
One of these days.
One of these days, I will come to see
The glory of your face
The scars that make me free
No more depravity, embraced by eternity.
But until then I will struggle
Over the measure of your love
And how on earth it could cover
Every single wrong I've done.
So I will live in wonder
At everything you are
And with each step more discover
What it means to be truly yours
One of these days
Ooooohhhhhhh....
But until then I will struggle
Over the measure of your love
And how on earth it could cover
Every single wrong I've done.
So I will live in wonder
At everything you are
And with each step more discover
What it means to be truly yours
One of these days
One of these days.
