Story Behind the Song
MOTIVATION: Exposing sarcasm I suppose, the snakey vocal an aspect of ourselves (call it denial or defense), exploring new awareness...digging in the dirt, seeking forgiveness and closure
LYRICS MEANING: the message is to be aware of the importance of relationships in life
WHERE WRITTEN: In a cabin on top of a pine forested hill, overlooking a raven that snaked down into the town of Gibson's B.C.. A wooden floor, wool rug, and great wooden planks lined the walls, cups of tea and snow packed against the outer walls made for a few great days of recording ideas.
TO RECORD: Melanie recorded a few vocal tracks to create the texture she wanted, drums were not so easy-we have since found so many variables for drum sounds, guitar was done on a crystal clear afternoon after playing with the track over Sumatra coffee.
Lyrics
Must say your decision
Came with a sharp tongue
Must say your decision
Came with surprise
Why do I care anyway
What is this feeling
Why do I care anyway
What is this feeling
Inside
Must say you looked at your facts
And you fucked off quickly
Must say I'm surprised
At your aptitude
What is the difference anyway
What is this feeling
What is the difference anyway
What is this feeling
Inside
Just want a new way
A new start
A new beginning
New healing touch
me quickly
Across the wind
What is the difference anyway
What is this feeling
What is the difference anyway
What is this feeling
Inside
