An Anne Rice/Vampire Lestat inspired creation. |
CD: Melanie Dawn track Melanie_arcand@hotmail.com
Label: available material ....the stuff of sound tracks
Credits: Melanie Dawn Ken Turnbull |
Story Behind the Song
SONG MOTIVATION:a wall socket, an Anne Rice novel, and a belief in innate good...minimalistic beliefs
LYRIC MEANING:speaker is crouched in a corner, like static without a plug, seperated...watching cycles go on without him/her
SONG WRITTEN: In a wooden building on the oceans edge, in a small apartment with blue and gold walls, a chinese screen and a computer.
How Long: An instant to write, we turn on a tape, sit on the floor, turn down the lights and look for the truth.
To Record:Finding compatable sounds took some time, after that it was a matter of recording a few seperate vocal tracks to get the texture Melanie Dawn was looking for, then playing around with levels.
Takes:Melanie has four tracks here needed to express her intent...just as we multi-task in life, just as we are pulled by varied thought processes
Your interest is inspiring, we have many other creations to hear if you'd like.
Lyrics
Still static
still you turn me on
look at the wonderful people
all the wonderful people
as their rushing through
listen to all the people
all the precious people
as they slip on through
it's a short life
live it
it's a short life
get in it
count your blessings
count your blessings
I will rock
see you after the show
i'll turn it upside down
and we go through it again
count your blessings still static
count your blessings still you turn me on
Stand up
(don't you beleive)
Speak your mind
(you didn't do it all)
Let it go
(it's you I spot)
You haven't got all the time
(racing through it all)
count your blessings
count your blessings
it's a short life
live it
it's a short life
get in it
IT'S A SHORT LIFE
note:count your blessings, life is rich
