    Story Behind the Song
Having gone through a situation in which sadness was inevitable and I just wanted everyone to leave me alone and let me wallow in it. The song was written in my studio apartment on my guitar. It took about 2 hours to write it. It took about 4 hours to lay the vocals; I don't know how long the band took to record. I would say we did between 15 and 20 takes of the song.

    Lyrics
As I walk along these streets again
    I think about your face
I wonder if you'd recognize me
Different time but same old place.
I wonder if my tears have changed me
Or if my smile's still the same
I wonder if I'd have to tell you
My heart's still the one to blame
    Let it rain.

I sit around and watch this river
Of my tears soak my heart
My heart is like a stage
Where sadness plays the biggest part
    I've got this masochistic way
Of dealing with things that get me down
Because I sometimes like to sit in my tears
    And wait until I drown
    Let it rain.

Let it rain, let it rain, let it rain, let it rain, let it rain.

    Let it rain
Don't tell me it'll be allright
Don't tell me it'll be just fine
Don't tell me it's a matter of time
    Just let it rain.

I want to waste some time in darkness
And find my own way out
And if you see me with a blank stare
Don't you ask what it's about
I wanna hide away in sorrow
    Let my feelings take control
Until I find a reason to let go
Be a prisoner of my soul
    Let it rain.

Let it rain, let it rain, let it rain, let it rain, let it rain.

    Let it rain
Don't tell me it'll be allright
Don't tell me it'll be just fine
Don't tell me it's a matter of time
    Just let it rain...ooh yeah.
