	First song ever written for Vale of Tears. The Tree of Death first started as a personnal poem, it's sole purpose to relieve my soul. But some feelings can only be transcribed through music.

	Lyrics I am the old tree of death Standing alone and insane In a vast but empty forest Weeping unknown and in vain I am the old tree of death Conquered by time And where once stood love I stand in all it's emptyness My roots feed from this ground This battered ground Dried out and and without life I feed yet stand unfulfilled Crows fold my branches With their cold claws They shout at me They shout and go But still I dream And still I hope A saddened scene Which I can't cope Hast thou ever seen a tree fall? Hast thou ever heard it's call? I stand as a tortured silhouette Veiled by the blackened velvet Of the night Even the stars in the sky Even the moon in thy eyes All this beauty I once witnessed And once adored Can't uncover this darkness In which I'm dressed I asked the archangels tonight I asked them a requiem They sang to me They redeemed me Like a drapery Envelopped in ecstasy Knights of valor In shiny armors The branches slashed The sap pooring Droplets raining O All this pain Indulging! ...I was the old tree of death And I cried for thee © Pascal - 2003
