Cool grooving rocker. Lyrics touch upon materialism vs spiritualism and what bothers me about the world sometimes.

    Story Behind the Song
Wrote this a few years back with Mike. He had this really cool funky guitar line that just sat well. I wanted it to be more a message song than your typical love'em and leave'em rocker.

Now that Mike and I have paired up again, we may dust off some of these songs and take them on the road again. Good old songs are like good old friends - always there for you when you need them and just keep getting better with age.

    Lyrics
You don't need no chauffeur no fancy car
You don't need no burning bush or guiding star
Struggle just to keep all the wolves at bay
So they can hand you the crown on Bastille Day

And so you say each day just keeps on getting
    harder
Welcome to the world Mister Everyday Martyr

    Stand a little higher
    Walk just a little straighter
    Shake off those chains boy
    And Live Primitive
    Stop and look around
    Kiss kiss that holy ground
    We live how we live
    We Live Primitive

Cruising down the Ganges one summer day
How in hell I found myself down old Calcutta way
Need a telephone I think some beggar said
And then she handed me her very last crust of
    bread

So if you're looking for that turn off to the right track
Won't find it there behind the wheel of your big Cadillac

    Stand a little higher
    Walk just a little straighter
    Shake off those chains boy
    And Live Primitive
    Stop and look around
    Kiss kiss that holy ground
    We live how we live
    We Live Primitive

Came face to face with Elvis on the mountain
And he said son you can drink from my
    fountain
I asked the king how come life had to be so
    hard
And he just smiled and said will that be cash
    or credit card?

    Stand a little higher
    Walk just a little straighter
    Shake those chains....
    Stand a little higher
    Walk just a little straighter
    Shake off those chains boy
    And Live Primitive
    Stop and look around
    Kiss kiss that holy ground
    We live how we live
    We Live Primitive
