From the stunning poem by H.S. Mitchell comes a song so passionate that to listen to it both awakens the soul and grips it. Soaring piano, cello, strings, drums, fretless bass, complicated progressions, and the gut-wrenching heart aching lead guitar, played by Mark Skipper cap off this true masterpiece of a song.
THIS SONG represents the first collaborative combination of Lana J. Albert and Damien Project. Intricate in layering, expert sound, and true emotions, Mark adds a depth to Battlefield to with a parallel can scarcely be found.
We look forward to much more!! To read H.S. Mitchell's poem, you may click on the song title. | MP3.com CD: Equilibrium of Feeling - buy it!

Story Behind the Song
BATTLEFIELD
H. S. Mitchell
a bridge has been built
that spans the chasm
between what is realized
and what is known
a strategic necessity
to get to the land
where poems are found
soldiers of misfortune
and prisoners of war
looking for escape
wait on the other side
when the bridge-keeper
sleeps, they cross
with the imperceptible
creaking of uneasy dreams,
sneak into consciousness
with the cover of morning fog
days spent hiding in the trenches
between surface thoughts
waiting each night
for reinforcements to come
patient with the knowledge
of an enemy unaware
trenches full, courage high
the army of the suppressed
begin their battle cry
startled, the keeper runs
to the arsenal of rational thought
confused and overwhelmed
when all the weapons jam
outnumbered and out-voiced
retreat to the place where
sanity is shielded, the only option
outside the bunker
a one-sided war rages on
violent explosions of anger
wailing sirens of unchained sadness
machine gun fire of accusations
inside the bunker, walls trembling
the keeper sits on a bare cement floor
rocking to the rhythm of thunder
as battalions of pain
march across the bridge
