Story Behind the Song
I had a semi-funky, semi-jazzy groove and tried to express melodically a recent personal disaster. Easy to write, impossible to record but probably could never get it right - as in life.
Lyrics
1st VERSE: Oh, Regina, have you seen her? Was she outside chasing rainbows? In the morning light, and the silent bite of the snow. Did she say where she was going? Did she seem to know it all? 'bout the desperation growing, waiting for her call. BRIDGE: But I know she chose disater, in some way to make her mark. But eventually it must have seemed a crutch. Tried so hard to be loved, but after seen in contrast much too stark. Was the problem that they all loved her too much, to be out of touch. CHORUS: Oh, have you seen her? Oh, Regina
2nd VERSE: Was she acting out in fairy tales? Were her nursery rhymes still dear? Somewhere in her heart? For a brand new start? Far from here. Did she seem to have a future? Was her past still close behind? In the lights now green or the yellow beam on the stop sign. BRIDGE: But if it's easy to forgive her, then it's harder to forget and support can only feel as it's misplaced. And the memories gone now with her, can feel more like regret, Gone. where they belong in time and space, without a face. CHORUS: Oh, Regina, have you seen her? Oh, Regina. BRIDGE: But carry on they say she'll be comin' round some day. As all lost children come and gone some day find where they belong once they are grown. CHORUS: Oh, Regina. Have you seen her?
