A song partially inspired by the imminent arrival of my daughter, Ella. |
Credits: Lyrics, music, performed and produced by James Hart |
Story Behind the Song
This was inspired partly by the impending arrival of my daughter, Ella, who threatened to arrive over a two week period, but kept us waiting. Sequenced using Logic Audio, and played using keyboards (and a rather delightful Steinway soundfont) acoustic guitar, electric guitar & singing. I recorded this during the evenings of the Saturday and Sunday before she was born.
Lyrics
Maybe I'm just being selfish and
Maybe it's not how I should be
But patience is a gift to the wise
And I'd say it doesn't apply to me
So baby when can I see you again?
I'm holding out for you being with me
Baby when can I see you again?
What kind of assurance can you give me?
I'm reaching the end of my chain
So when can I see you again?
Some days - seems you're gonna be near me
Some days - seems you're playing hard to get
Strangely, you've not given in to me
Strangely, I haven't given up yet
Tomorrow seems as far away
As I thought it was yesterday
But nothing's changed no hint or sign
That you'll be in these arms of mine
