Story Behind the Song
This song was written as therapy for me. It was written in one day, and it deals more with making a life change than a relationship change. It took about 7 hours to lay down all the track, with most of them happening within a couple of takes.
Lyrics
Why do I try and fool myself and say that this is the best that I can do?
Why do I go and kid myself and say I'm not taking any more from you?
I need to draw the line. I need a vision, I need a sign. But it's staring right at me, where I need to be. Staring right at you, a shell of what I knew.
Why can't you look beyond yourself, and see your problem begins with you?
Why can't I look inside myself and find the nerve to say it's through?
I need to draw the line. I need a vision, I need a sign. But it's staring right at me, where I need to be. Staring right at you, a shell of what I knew.
I see the road divide. One sides's full of promises and lies.
But it's staring right me, where I need to be. Staring right at you, a shell of what I knew.
