Story Behind the Song
You can hear the train roll by intrusively like always, but in a fashion never heard by me. Always waking me up, always making me on edge, a metaphor of my first apartment in Boston; my first apartment. I recorded this in my room on a disgustingly hot summer day, the lyrics were written by my friend Adam (because I had no confidence in my own yet) but the guy being a tall shaggy, smelly, vividly vulgar, yet beautiful person added a lyric or two in the end that made a couple of heads turn. Originally there was no "release it" written in (I added that part) but well, the voices make the song scream with passion and dissonence. I love this song for the nostalgia and the peace it gives me and lets me break free from. I hope one listens.
Lyrics
The good time boys are caught in traffic
despite my steady advances
courtside antics, have me stringing raquets
counting up my second chances
courting glances feeling frantic
my hopes were bigger before I dashed em
and aw; let me assure you
let me assure you,
you've got nothing on my sense of trigger
you've got nothing on my sense of trigger
and I've got the tools to back it
I've got the tools to back it
Seems I've mastered being myself
why does that make me more bitter?
I'm feelin' hot and queezy
better take a shit
and I'm feelin' hot and quezzy
better release it
feelin' hot and queezy
better take a shit
feelin' hot and queezy
better take a shit, better release it
