	Story Behind the Song The Homestead Act brought many optimistic settlers to the west in the late 1800's. After many tragedies and hardships these brave people persevered, and cleared the land and plant the crops that would be their own. Lyrics My God! Where are we? They're letting us off In the middle of the bush and the snow, The conductor said to find our neighbour We still had six more miles to go. I'm prayin' my story will rhyme On a quarter section of prime. We've left our family and friends back in time To stake out our claim if our luck stays in line.
