Story Behind the Song
This song is the first song I ever wrote. The story itself is straight fiction. It was recorded at the Engine Room on Canal street by Eddie Said. Harvey Morris plays the thunderous drums and Michael Olivario is on the bass.
Lyrics
She turns her head
Raises up her eyes
So surprised to see
He's left and gone away
Without a word to explain
His reason, no, no,
She sits back in her chair
So sad she's feeling
Not sure what to do
She just lays down
All around
See's these pictures of him
Memories of them
running all through her head
How long, Do I wait for you
How long, Do I stay,
don't you make me stay always so true
Couple days gone by
Veiled in Black she see's him
knowing to herself
This would be the last time
As the door lay open
She began to scream then
Singing and swearing
something like
How long, Do I wait for you
How long, Do I stay,
don't you make me stay
How long do I deny
How long can I lie
The sun has gone
absent from the sky
And in the blackness of this sea
How long will it be
Until I find someone else for me
How Long?
You dare me to forget you
How can I forgive you now
For making me feel so blue
And barely do I know your reasons
For your leaving
All I know is my love was true
How Long, Do I wait for you
How Long, Do I stay,
Don't you make me stay always so true
She got a lot older
Then she got married
Still she keeps a picture of
Him to her heart
So as they will never be apart
A sweet memory
She would never want to leave
The End.
